d. 18 Sep 1944 in Beaufighter X KW326 which crashed into the sea 1.5 miles from shore after the port engine caught fire on takeoff from Lossiemouth. His body was recovered on the 21 Sep and buried in Camberwell New Cemetery, Honor Oak.
