 One accident, his fault:

- 14 Aug 1942, he retracted the undercarriage of his Mustang AG345 too early during take-off and damaged it; he was then "unable to lower the undercariage for landing"


 He sailed back to the US on the 11 Jun 1942 with fellow US pilots Marshall Milton, William Byrd Lee Milton, Eddie Grundstrom, Manley William 'Lee' Fairbrother, Eddie Ballard, and Harry Kindberg.

 Like Eddie Grundstrom, he then re-applied to the ATA, was re-instated and carried out a further year of ferrying.
